Bora Modern Solid Brown Hand-Tufted Viscose Rug 5' x 8'

Bora is a brown hand-tufted viscose rug with a modern, solid design, sized 5' x 8' for a living room. With no pattern to compete with, it works as the quiet base layer under whatever else the room is doing. Brown is a forgiving shade, and it sits happily with wood, leather and linen.

Material and make

Hand-tufting punches yarn through a backing cloth with a hand-held tool; the rug is then backed and sheared, giving a plush, even surface. Viscose has a sheen that shifts with the light, so keep the rug to lower-traffic rooms and away from spills. A plain solid surface shows off that sheen well.

In the room

In a bedroom, run the 5' x 8' along the side of a queen bed or across the foot of it. In a living room it fits under a coffee table with the front legs of the sofa resting on its edge. In either room, a patterned cushion or throw will stand out nicely against the solid ground.

Care

Vacuum on a low setting without a beater bar, turn the rug round once or twice a year and blot spills promptly rather than rubbing. Avoid steam and soaking.
